Following the directive of the Executive Governor of Edo State, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, the government has declared Tuesday, 9th June 2026 and Wednesday, 10th June 2026 as public holidays statewide.

This landmark decision is driven by one vision: to ensure no eligible citizen is left behind in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise.

The Governor understands that democracy grows stronger when every voice counts, and these two days have been set aside to give our people the freedom to participate without work or business distractions.

In line with this directive, the Acting Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson, is calling on all residents, community leaders, youth groups, market associations, and stakeholders across Agenebode, Weppa-Wanno, Okpella, Ibie and every other wards to seize this opportunity.

Rt. Hon. Ekpeson charges all council officials, ward leaders, and mobilization teams to step out, sensitize, and guide our people to the nearest registration centers.

This is more than a holiday — it is a patriotic duty.

✅When you register today, you secure your right to choose tomorrow.

✅You protect your community’s interests and you shape the Edo State we all desire.

Let Etsako East lead by example. Let us show that our council is committed to inclusion, participation, and progress.

Every registration is a step toward better representation, better projects, and a better future for our children.

The Acting Executive Chairman, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson appreciates Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo for this people-first decision, and he assures that Etsako East will respond with massive turnout and orderly participation.
