PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN, SECURING OUR FUTURE: RT. HON. SUNNY EKPETIKA EKPESON ORDERS FULL-SCALE VIGILANCE ACROSS ETSAKO EAST SCHOOLS
PUBLIC NOTICE
Etsako East Local Government Council, Agenebode
Tuesday, 9th June, 2026
Earlier today, the attention of the Acting Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council and Chairman of ALGON, Edo State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, was drawn to a voice note currently circulating among the general public through WhatsApp groups.
The message, from Mr. Emmanuel Agbadumhe, CIE of Etsako East, raised concern about a possible security threat targeting schools within Edo North.
Responding with speed and responsibility, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson, has issued immediate directives through his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Mr. Bright Omoudu who serves as the chief security coordinator for the council.
All security agencies and structures within Etsako East are now on heightened alert. This covers our committed local Vigilante Groups, officers of the Edo State Security Corps, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Nigerian Army units stationed across the council.
The Acting Chairman’s charge is simple but firm: every school building and surrounding community must be under 24-hour patrol and monitoring. Our children deserve to learn in peace, and parents deserve peace of mind.
This decisive action shows a government that is attentive, proactive, and people-focused. The safety and wellbeing of our students, teachers, and families remain non-negotiable under this administration.
We appeal to all residents, school heads, and community leaders to remain calm, cooperate with security personnel, and report any unusual activity without delay to the closest security post.
Unity and vigilance will keep Etsako East safe.
Issued by:
Comr. Amb. Abass Egbezemogie Yunusah
