Etsako East, Edo state – Etsako East Local Government Council is taking decisive and relentless action to combat the scourge of insecurity, with Ag. Chairman Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson leading the charge with vision and determination.

The council boss has mobilized substantial resources and support for security agencies, including the Edo State Security Corps, local vigilantes, and the 195 Battalion Nigerian Army, to intensify patrols and protect residents, especially farmers, from threats like kidnapping, herder attacks, and other forms of violence that have hindered agricultural activities in the past.

In a bid to ensure safe passage to farms and markets, security personnel have been urged to step up bush combing operations, conduct regular checkpoints, and collaborate with local authorities to gather intelligence and respond swiftly to any security breaches.

The chairman of ALGON Edo state chapter, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson has assured them of unwavering support and backing in their quest to restore peace and stability in the local government area, recognizing that a secure environment is crucial for economic growth and development.

This morning’s security exercise, involving the Nigerian Army and other agencies, is a testament to the council Boss commitment to safeguarding lives and property, particularly as the planting season approaches.

The operation, which involved a joint patrol along key routes leading to farms and boundaries, has yielded positive results, with farmers reporting a sense of safety and security as they prepare to plant their crops. These efforts aim to give residents, especially farmers, confidence to pursue their livelihoods without fear, and to ensure that Etsako East remains a food basket for the state and beyond.
