Etsako East, Edo State – The atmosphere across Etsako East has shifted as the zonal mobilization for the Local Government Chairmanship election begins in earnest.
From one ward to another, the people are turning out in one voice behind Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson — Acting Executive Chairman of Etsako East LGC and Chairman of ALGON, Edo State Chapter.
What we are witnessing is more than a campaign. It is a rare moment of collective resolve not seen in the Council for over ten years.
Communities from Ibie to Okpella, and Weppa-Wanno to Uzanu are already celebrating what they describe as a victory for tested leadership and accountable service.
In his current role, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson has set a benchmark that speaks for itself. His stewardship has been marked by calm, capacity, wisdom and results that resonate with citizens at the grassroots.
The display of sagacity in his campaign and governance is why support is cutting across every line of society.
The momentum is visible everywhere. Supporters have responded with gifts in Naira and Dollars, the printing of posters, banners, and billboards, and door-to-door advocacy.
From classroom teachers and farmers, to market women and Okada riders, from hunters and youths to elders and women’s groups, the message is consistent: Ekpeson is the choice for Etsako East’s next Executive Chairman.
This groundswell was further strengthened this evening at his country home in Iviukwe community.
Mrs. Faith Dokpesi, a committed community leader and founder of the Lady Faith Initiative for Gender Advancement, LFIGA — a platform mobilizing young women in Etsako politics — unveiled newly printed T-shirts bearing Rt. Hon. Ekpeson’s image as a show of solidarity.
The wave of support also reached beyond our shores. Iviukwe in Diaspora, under the Chairmanship of Chalix Abu, mobilized in a strong show of solidarity for the incoming Executive Chairman.
Yesterday evening, the group printed and presented T-shirts and caps in support of Rt. Hon. Ekpeson. The items were delivered by one of the community leaders, Mr. Donald of Iviukwe, as a clear demonstration of confidence in his leadership and the sagacity he has shown in his campaign.
The presentations were received in the presence of key APC stakeholders, including the Weppa-Wanno and Uzanu Zonal Leader, Hon. Stanley Okpo Odidi, former Executive Chairman of Etsako East.
The moment underscored the breadth of the coalition backing this movemen — from home, across communities, and into the Diaspora.
Etsako East is speaking clearly. It is a call for continuity of excellence, for inclusive leadership, for wisdom in governance, and for a future where every community feels represented.
