Etsako East, Edo State – The spirit of unity and optimism is high across Etsako East as voters prepare for today’s Edo State Local Government Council Chairmanship Election.
In a remarkable show of support, renowned legal practitioner and political stakeholder, Barr. Owodi Austin paid a courtesy visit to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairmanship Candidate.
The visit drew supporters and well-wishers who gathered to witness the strengthening of collaboration ahead of the polls.
During the engagement, Barr. Austin presented a dollar-denominated gift to Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson as a token of goodwill and confidence.
Responding, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson expressed deep appreciation for the visit and the kind gesture. He described Barr. Austin as a leader who values relationships and recognizes the role of stakeholders in driving community development.
He further urged all political actors to uphold peace, inclusiveness, and issue-based engagement throughout the election period.
In another demonstration of support, on Friday, 10th July, 2026, members of the 1995/1996 Age Group of Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson made a cash donation to support his campaign.
The presentation brought together members who spoke with one voice in declaring their vote of confidence in his leadership, vision, and commitment to grassroots development.
They described the donation as a symbol of collective belief that his emergence will bring greater progress and inclusive growth to the people of Etsako East.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Abu Osi Mathew and Comr. Paul Omokhoya Ugiah reaffirmed their commitment to mobilize support for the APC candidate.
They expressed optimism that his victory will open the door to responsive governance and sustainable community development.
The Patron of the 1995/1996 Age Group, Senior Ukpi Drummer of Iviukwe Community, Dr. F.E.A. Ozekhome also commended the unity and dedication of the group.
He noted that their gesture reflects the strong bond they share with Rt. Hon. Ekpeson and their trust in his capacity to deliver purposeful leadership.
Rt. Hon. Ekpeson, in his response, thanked his age group for their generosity and encouragement. He described the support as humbling and inspiring, and assured them that their trust will be honored through selfless service, transparency, and people-centered leadership.
Further extending the wave of solidarity, members of the Pyramid Club of Nigeria, Northern Chapter ably represented by their Vice Chairman, High Chief Muhammad Diko, also presented a cash gift to the APC flag bearer.
The donation was made on behalf of the Club to show support for the incoming Executive Chairman and respected Chairman of ALGON, Edo State Chapter, ahead of today’s polls across Edo State.
The convergence of support from legal professionals, age groups, and national associations underscores a growing consensus. The people of Etsako East are rallying behind tested leadership, continuity, and a shared vision for progress.
