IVIUKWE COMMUNITY OVERFLOWS WITH JOY AND PRIDE AS RT. HON. SUNNY EKPETIKA EKPESON, HOME SON AND FORMER ACTING CHAIRMAN, IS CELEBRATED AS THE FIRST SUBSTANTIVE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN FROM IVIUKWE AND PIONEER ALGON CHAIRMAN FROM ETSAKO EAST LGC
Ward 3 (Iviukwe), Etsako East, Edo State – Sunday, 13th July, 2026 was a day of history, culture, and uncontainable joy in Iviukwe community as a massive crowd of jubilant sons, daughters, elders, women, youth, and well-wishers gathered at the residence of Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson in Iviukwe to celebrate a milestone achievement.
The entire Ward 3 was aglow with excitement. The atmosphere was filled with music, traditional beats, and dancing as the good people of Iviukwe celebrated the emergence of their son as the Substantive Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council.
It was a moment of pride, fulfillment, and renewed hope for the community.
The significance of this celebration cannot be overstated. Rt. Hon. Ekpeson has etched his name in history as the first indigene of Iviukwe community to attain the position of Executive Chairman of Etsako East LGC. Having previously served in an acting capacity with diligence, his election now confirms the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people.
In addition, he has emerged as the first Chairman from Etsako East to be elected as ALGON Chairman in Edo State, a feat that brings honor to Iviukwe, Ward 3, and the entire Etsako East.
The grand reception was a beautiful display of culture and unity. The community showcased its rich heritage through electrifying performances, including the majestic Odufa Cultural Dance and the thrilling rendition by the Gbokobia Cultural Dance Band under the leadership of Mr. Eshiemogie Omito.
The celebration was further enlivened by the presence of NYSC Corps Members serving in Iviukwe, who joined the people in dancing, singing, and praying for a successful tenure. The day truly reflected the spirit of oneness and progress.
This historic moment marks the beginning of a new era of inclusive governance, grassroots development, and people-oriented leadership for Etsako East.
The people of Iviukwe expressed optimism that under Rt. Hon. Ekpeson’s leadership, the council will witness unprecedented growth, peace, and prosperity.
