A NEW DAWN OF YOUTH LEADERSHIP AND PARTNERSHIP FOR PROGRESS: ETSAKO EAST NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA EXECUTIVES PAY HISTORIC COURTESY VISIT TO THE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH AFFAIRS AND THE EDO STATE NYCN CHAIRMAN IN BENIN CITY
Benin City, Edo State – In a show of unity, commitment, and renewed dedication to youth development, the newly inaugurated Executive Members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Etsako East Local Government Branch today paid a courtesy visit to key leaders in the state.
The delegation, led by the Etsako East LGC Coordinator, Comr. AbdulRahman Ozekomhe — fondly called (O1), was warmly received at the Edo State Secretariat, Benin City. He was accompanied by the Branch Secretary, Comr. Amb. Abass Egbezemogie Yunusah, and the Branch Treasurer, Mr. John Okpetu.
The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the new Etsako East executive team to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Charity Uyimwen Amayaenvbo, and to the Edo State Chairman of NYCN, Mr. Moses Agwinede Joseph.
During the engagement, Comr. AbdulRahman presented a detailed briefing on the peaceful and successful conduct of the Etsako East NYCN elections held on 7th July, 2026. He highlighted how the process produced a credible leadership team now poised to advance the ideals of the Council at the grassroots. He also commended the Commissioner and State Chairman for their continuous support to youth structures across Edo State.
The Coordinator further used the opportunity to acknowledge the proactive role played by Etsako East youths during the EDSIEC Local Government Council elections of Saturday, 11th July, 2026.
He noted that through the NYCN Etsako East platform, young people were mobilized, enlightened, and sensitized, which contributed to the peaceful emergence of Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson as the Substantive Executive Chairman of Etsako East LGC.
In his response, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Charity Uyimwen Amayaenvbo, expressed appreciation for the visit.
He congratulated the new executives on their well-deserved election and charged them to be ambassadors of peace, unity, and productivity. He gave his full endorsement to the new Etsako East leadership and pledged continued collaboration to empower youths across the state.
The State Chairman of NYCN, Mr. Moses Agwinede Joseph, also applauded the maturity displayed during the Etsako East election and encouraged the new team to sustain the spirit of service, innovation, and inclusiveness.
The visit ended on a high note of optimism, with both the Commissioner and State Chairman affirming their belief in the capacity of Etsako East youths to lead positive change.
