A HERO’S FAREWELL: ETSAKO EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL PAYS SOLEMN TRIBUTE TO FALLEN EDO STATE SECURITY CORPS OFFICER AMINU ABDUL, AS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN RT. HON. SUNNY EKPETIKA EKPESON SALUTES HIS SUPREME SACRIFICE AND VOWS RELENTLESS ACTION AGAINST CRIMINAL ELEMENTS TO UPHOLD PEACE AND SECURITY ACROSS ALL COMMUNITIES

Etsako East, Edo State, – With a heavy but grateful heart, the Acting Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, joins the people of Etsako East to mourn the passing of a courageous son of the soil, Officer Aminu Abdul, a gallant member of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) who died in the line of duty.

Officer Aminu Abdul passed on peacefully on Thursday, 24 April 2026, at a medical facility where he had been receiving treatment for critical injuries sustained while bravely confronting suspected kidnapper during a security operation in Ward 9, Three Ibie. He stood firmly on the front line to protect our communities, exemplifying the highest ideals of service, courage, and sacrifice.

The Council Chairman extends his deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the late Officer Aminu Abdul. In this moment of grief, the entire Etsako East Local Government stands with you. Our thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support remain with his loved ones, colleagues, and all who drew strength from his service.

Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson reaffirmed his administration’s total commitment to security and justice. He declared that every individual found to be aiding or abetting criminal elements in our communities will face the full weight of the law. The sacrifice of Officer Aminu Abdul will not be in vain. His bravery strengthens our resolve to rid Etsako East of criminality and to protect every citizen.

We salute Officer Aminu Abdul. His name will be remembered with honor among the heroes who gave their all so that Etsako East can live in peace.

Etsako East mourns a hero, but his courage lights our path forward.
