SPREADING JOY AND HOPE: MRS. HELEN SUNNY AKIOTU EMBODIES THE TRUE SPIRIT OF EASTER WITH A GESTURE OF LOVE AND COMPASSION

Etsako East, Edo State – As the people of Etsako East celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a beacon of hope and unity, the chairperson of WALGON, Edo state chapter, and wife of Etsako East Local Government Council Boss, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, Mrs. Helen Sunny Akiotu, has demonstrated the true spirit of Easter by spreading love and kindness to the most vulnerable members of our community.

Mrs. Helen Akiotu, accompanied by the newly posted HOD of social to the local government council, Mr Amisu Ismaila, recently visited the following institutions across the three zones of Etsako East, including Agenebode, Ibie, and Okpella, axis to share the joy of Easter with those in need:

  1. Christ Family Orphage Home, Okpella
  2. God’s Love Orphage Home, Okpekpe
  3. The Home of Mentally Ill Patients at Iyaro House, Imiegba
  4. Eucharist Heart of Jesus, Agenebode

She distributed essential food items, including rice, groundnut oil, tomato paste, and cartons of Indomie, beverages, and liquid antiseptics to bring smiles to the faces of the beneficiaries. During her visit, Mrs. Helen the first lady of the local government council assured the caregivers and children that they are not forgotten, and that they should keep hope alive and follow the true teachings of Christ. Her gesture has brought joy to the hearts of the beneficiaries, who prayed for God’s blessings and reward upon her. The caregivers were equally grateful for the visit, expressing their appreciation for the kindness and compassion shown to their wards.

The selfless act of Mrs. Helen is a testament to the power of love, kindness, and compassion, and serves as an inspiration to us all. We are reminded that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, and that together, we can make a difference in the lives of those around us. Her actions embody the values of empathy, generosity, and kindness that define the true spirit of Easter.
