EDSIEC-ACCREDITED CIVIL SOCIETY TEAM VISITS INCOMING SUBSTANTIVE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN RT. HON. SUNNY EKPETIKA EKPESON, CELEBRATES ORDERLY LG POLLS IN ETSAKO EAST, HIGH ELECTORATE TURNOUT AND ASSURES OF SUPPORT FOR TRANSPARENT AND IMPACTFUL GOVERNANCE
Etsako East, Edo State – A delegation of Civil Society Organisations, CSOs Abuja Branch, on Saturday, 11th July, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the incoming Substantive Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson at his residence in Iviukwe Community.
The visit, led by Comrade Sunny Elekwa, was part of the team’s election observation tour across Etsako East.
The observers moved from ward to ward within the local government to assess the conduct of the ongoing council elections.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Elekwa applauded Rt. Hon. Ekpeson and the All Progressives Congress, APC for promoting a calm and credible electoral atmosphere.
He cited several areas visited, including Ward 9, 3Ibie, and other communities, where voting was observed to be orderly and well-coordinated.
According to the CSO team, the election process in Etsako East reflected the true spirit of democracy.
They noted a high turnout of voters who came out peacefully to exercise their franchise and choose leaders of their choice without any form of disruption.
The delegation further stated that, based on their accreditation by EDSIEC and field reports, the polls across Etsako East were conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.
They described the large participation of residents as a clear sign of public confidence in grassroots governance.
In response, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson expressed gratitude to the observers for their commitment to democratic accountability.
He reaffirmed his dedication to inclusive leadership, unity, and sustainable development that will benefit every ward and community in Etsako East.
The atmosphere across the local government continues to reflect peace, order, and a shared commitment to progress.
