Benin City, Edo State – In a moment that radiated honor and appreciation, the Chairman-Elect of Etsako East Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, on Monday presented his Certificate of Return to His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, Executive Governor of Edo State, and to his leader, High Chief Barr. Jarrett Tenebe, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Edo State.
The symbolic gesture, which took place in Benin City shortly after EDSIEC officially issued the certificate, was far beyond protocol. It reflected deep respect, loyalty, and a spirit of thankfulness for the guidance, backing, and enabling environment that made his resounding victory possible.
With pride in his hands and gratitude in his heart, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson submitted the document that affirms the mandate given to him by the people of Etsako East. He described the win as a collective achievement — one that belongs to the good people of Edo State, the great All Progressives Congress (APC) family, and the purposeful leadership of Governor Okpebholo.
Addressing his hosts, the Chairman-Elect pledged to live up to the trust placed on him. He promised a government that is close to the people, focused on grassroots progress, and committed to bringing real development and democratic benefits to every ward and community in Etsako East.
His Excellency Distinguished Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo and High Chief Barr. Jarrett Tenebe, both celebrated for their dedication to building a stronger, more inclusive Edo State, warmly received the Chairman-Elect.
