The Edo State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, has felicitated the Edo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his 56th birthday, describing him as “Mr. Project” and praising the remarkable pace of infrastructure and development taking place across the state.

Ekpeson, who doubles as the Chairman-Elect of Etsako East Local Government Council, said Governor Okpebholo’s birthday presents a fitting occasion to celebrate not only his life but also the visible imprint his administration is making on Edo State through projects and initiatives touching critical sectors.

The ALGON Chairman described the Governor as a workaholic, distinguished, focused, organised and a perfect gentleman, adding that his performance at 56 reflects a combination of wisdom, administrative capacity and a clear understanding of the aspirations of Edo people.

Sunny said: “Your birthday is the perfect time to tell you how valuable you are to us and to appreciate the many projects you have undertaken across Edo State. At 56, Your Excellency, you have shown remarkable wisdom and capacity, and Edo people are seeing the results in the transformation taking place across the state.

“You are a workaholic Governor, distinguished, focused, organised and a perfect gentleman. You are too wise at 56, and your wisdom is reflected in the decisions you are taking and the projects your administration is delivering for our people.”

He described Governor Okpebholo as “Mr. Project,” citing the growing number of construction and rehabilitation projects across Edo State as evidence of an administration placing physical development at the heart of governance.

Ekpeson noted that roads are being constructed and rehabilitated, schools are being built and upgraded to modern standards, healthcare facilities are receiving renewed attention, while communities are benefiting from the provision of boreholes and other essential infrastructure.

“You have turned Edo State into a construction site of development. Everywhere you look, there are projects. Roads are being constructed, schools are being built to modern standards, healthcare facilities are being revitalised, boreholes are being provided, and security initiatives are receiving greater attention.

“This is why I call you Mr. Project. Your administration is not merely talking about development; Edo people are seeing projects emerging across communities.”

The Etsako East Chairman-Elect also commended the Governor’s approach to tackling insecurity, particularly his zero-tolerance stance towards cult groups, criminal elements and other threats to peace and public safety.

He maintained that the pursuit of development must go hand in hand with the protection of lives and property, noting that the Governor’s security initiatives are helping to create an environment where residents can live, work and conduct their businesses with greater confidence.

Ekpeson expressed confidence that Governor Okpebholo would continue to expand the frontiers of development and deliver more projects that would leave a lasting imprint on Edo State.

He wished the Governor many more years of good health, wisdom and strength to continue steering the affairs of the state.

“May God grant you many more years in good health, greater wisdom and strength to continue serving our people. Happy birthday, Mr. Project. Long may you reign, Your Excellency. You are doing well for Edo State.”
