Etsako East, Edo State– In a significant gesture of respect and solidarity, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, Acting Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, paid a courtesy visit to the Royal Palace of Okuokpellagbe, HRM, Micheal Oshioronoya Olorunfemi Sado known as HRM Michael Sado of Okpella, yesterday, Wednesday, 15th April, 2026. The visit marked a milestone in the council’s efforts to foster stronger ties with the traditional institution and promote community development.

Accompanied by his vice, Hon. Charles Aloaye Dagana, Secretary to the Local Government Council, Hon. Edward Imanobe, Speaker to the legislative arm of the local government council, Rt. Hon. Isah Lucky Obado, SA to the Local Government Council, Mr. Peter Imodibo, and other senior officials to the local government council hierarchies, Dr. Innocent Alenogena, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Head of administration and general services, Mr Charles Ahonsi, Director of finance and Treasury, Mr Odafi kehide and Heads of various departments in the council.

The chairman of Association of Local Government Council Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), Edo State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson was warmly received by the Royal King, who praised the council chairman’s commitment to peace and security in the local government area.

The council boss expressed his gratitude for the king’s contributions to the growth and development of Okpella and the entire Etsako East, highlighting the significant progress made in addressing insecurity challenges and promoting peace.

Rt. Hon. Ekpeson commended the king’s leadership and vision, noting that his efforts have had a profound impact on the community. He specifically thanked the king for his role in restoring peace to the people of Okpella and for his contributions to the development of the local government area. The council boss also highlighted the council’s plans to continue working with the traditional institution to drive progress and improve the lives of the people.

In response, the Royal King, HRM Sado Micheal Oshioronoya Olorunfemi Sado, appreciated the council chairman’s kind gesture and reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with the local government council to drive development and promote unity in the kingdom and beyond. He praised Rt. Hon. Ekpeson’s leadership style and the progress made in addressing insecurity challenges, and assured the council boss of his full support.

The visit underscores the council’s dedication to building partnerships and promoting progress in Etsako East. As Rt. Hon. Ekpeson noted, “Together, we can achieve greatness and create a brighter future for our people.” The council boss also thanked the king for his support and guidance, and looked forward to continued collaboration to drive development and improve the lives of the people.
