HOPE RENEWED IN WEPA: ACTING ETSAKO EAST CHAIRMAN AND EDO ALGON CHAIRMAN, RT. HON. SUNNY EKPETIKA EKPESON TOURS EPA GRAMMAR SCHOOL, INSPECTS DILAPIDATED CLASSROOMS, CONSOLES STUDENTS AND TEACHERS, VOWS TO SECURE URGENT INTERVENTION FROM GOVERNOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO FOR COMPLETE RECONSTRUCTION AND MODERNIZATION OF SCHOOL FACILITIES
Etsako East, Edo State – The Acting Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council and Chairman of (ALGON), Edo State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, on Thursday, 29 January 2026, embarked on a working visit to Epa Grammar School, Weppa, to motivate learners and personally assess the state of infrastructure across the school environment.
While touring the school, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson undertook a detailed inspection of classrooms and administrative buildings, engaging directly with students and teachers to understand their needs. He praised the learners for their determination and applauded the teaching staff for their dedication despite obvious infrastructure setbacks.
Speaking to the school community, the Council Boss assured everyone present that their concerns had been carefully documented and prioritized. He stressed that every child in Etsako East deserves a safe, dignified, and modern learning space to unlock their full potential.
Rt. Hon. Ekpeson further disclosed that he would immediately present a comprehensive report on the school’s condition to the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo He expressed strong confidence that the Governor will authorize prompt rehabilitation of the structures and provide solutions to other pressing challenges facing the school.
Furthermore, Providing historical context to the visit, it is noteworthy that Epa Grammar School, Weppa holds deep cultural significance in the Clan. Following the on-the-spot assessment, the King of Weppa Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Moses Akpamuka Estu, the _Ogie-Eppa of Weppa Clan, was seen holding an extensive discussion with Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson on the school’s legacy and the urgent need for its restoration. The royal father commended the Chairman’s proactive leadership and pledged the kingdom’s full support for the revitalization effort.
“Stay hopeful and keep pushing forward,” the Chairman charged the students. “Your voice has been heard. In the shortest possible time, this school will be transformed into an environment you can be proud of.”
The visit concluded with renewed optimism among staff and students, as the Local Government Council reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to quality education and stronger collaboration with the Edo State Government to revitalize public schools.
As of today, Epa Grammar School is receiving the needed attention from His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, following the swift intervention of Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson.
