Etsako East, Edo State – the Acting Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, and chairman of ALGON Edo State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, today led a powerful show of unity in Iviukwe Community, Ward 3, as members of the All Progressives Congress gathered for the party’s primary election.
His presence underscored a commitment to grassroots engagement, orderly participation, and the spirit of collective progress that defines the APC in Etsako East.
Addressing a peaceful gathering of party members, Rt. Hon. Ekpeson conveyed the clear directive of His Excellency, distinguished senator Governor Monday Okpebholo, that the party family should align behind Alh. Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Imafidor Honesty as the preferred candidate to carry the All Progressive Congress flag for the Etsako East Constituency seat in the Edo State House of Assembly, EDHA.
A Directive Anchored on Unity and Purpose
The Acting Executive Chairman explained that Governor Okpebholo’s guidance was given in the interest of party harmony, effective representation, and the broader development agenda for Etsako East.
He urged youths, women, and all stakeholders to rally together behind Alhaji Dr. Imafidor Honesty, describing the move as a step toward strengthening the party’s structure and ensuring a credible voice for the constituency at Osadebe Avenue, Benin City.
Call for Maturity and Internal Cohesion
Rt. Hon. Ekpeson also appealed to all aspirants and supporters to set aside differences and embrace the leadership’s decision in good faith. He encouraged everyone to shield their personal ambitions and prioritize the unity of the party, stressing that discipline and cooperation remain the foundation of electoral success.
“Today is about one party, one vision, and one people. When we stand together, Etsako East wins,” he stated.
Witness to a Peaceful Democratic Process
The Council Boss stood firm at Athekha Primary School, the venue of the Ward 3 primary, where he addressed the community and observed the conduct of the exercise. In a show of trust and order, his vote was recorded first, after which other party members followed in an orderly queue, reflecting the discipline and maturity of APC members in Iviukwe.
The peaceful atmosphere and orderly process were commended by observers as a testament to the party’s growing culture of internal democracy.
Eyes on 2027: One Party, One Direction
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, the Council Boss reminded the people of Iviukwe that the All Progressives Congress APC remains the only progressive family with a clear, people-centered mandate.
He listed the APC chain of leadership from the top down, beginning with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through to state, the Edo North, Etsako East Federal Constituency and local structures, culminating with the Edo State House of Assembly hopeful, Alh. Dr. Aminu Imafidor Honesty.
He urged constituents to align fully with this progressive lineage at every level, noting that voting APC across the board will guarantee continuity, coordinated development, and stronger representation for Iviukwe and Etsako East as a whole. “There is no other path that guarantees progress like the APC,” he affirmed.
