Warm greetings to the good people of Etsako East.

Yesterday, Tuesday 7th July, 2026, the Etsako East Local Government Secretariat in Agenebode became a center of hope and inspiration as the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Etsako East Chapter held a peaceful, transparent, and successful election to bring forth a new set of committed young leaders.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, established since 1964, stands today as the largest and most respected umbrella body for youth organizations in Nigeria.

Its core purpose is to raise a generation of disciplined, innovative, and patriotic young people who will champion development, unity, and good governance across our nation.

NYCN is open to all Nigerians aged 18 to 35 who are passionate about growth, service, and building a stronger Nigeria. Through mentorship, training, and advocacy, the Council continues to open doors for youths to lead, contribute, and make a difference.

*The Strategic Role of *NYCN* in Nation Building and in Etsako East:*

  • Youth Empowerment: Equipping young people with skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and leadership capacity for self-reliance
  • National Unity: Bridging cultural and community divides by fostering peace, tolerance, and shared purpose among youths
  • Policy Advocacy: Serving as the authentic voice of young people before government and decision-makers
  • Grassroots Impact: Supporting community projects that address real needs and uplift local communities
  • Global Linkages: Creating partnerships that expose our youths to international opportunities, learning, and exchange
